Concha Cabana - - The cutest private home stay north of Havana!
Open the door to Key West’s past when you arrive at Concha Cabana, a quaint, 1923 “shotgun” house just a stone’s throw from where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Gulf of Mexico.
Located in a convenient spot in historic Old Town, this one bedroom/one bath house is between the Southernmost Point and the Ernest Hemingway house. Near the corner where Whitehead Street meets Catherine Street, it’s only a block-and-a-half from Duval Street and walking distance to the island’s famous lighthouse.

The modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances faces the living room with its wide bar, perfect for entertaining. The countertops are a striking earth-tone granite with real wood cabinetry offering plenty of storage. The convenient three-way lighted mirror is ideal for shaving, applying makeup, or making final touches to an evening coiffure. There is plenty of convenient storage in the fully-stocked linen closet full of fluffy colorful towels and in built-in drawers outside the bathroom door in the hallway to the bedroom.
The large bedroom will make its guests feel right at home in the vintage full-size blonde Heywood Wakefield Sculptura bed with a Simmons Beautyrest pillow-top mattress and the vintage designer Russel Wright blonde high-boy dresser. The back yard is partially sunny and partially shaded by a neighboring Tamarind tree, purported to be the largest one in North America. There’s plenty of privacy for sunning.
Only three houses away is a community center with a huge community swimming pool and a deck that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. With a lovely park next door to it, the view at this free amenity is a local secret. You can also make a daily short bike ride to the gorgeous, tree-lined beaches of historic Ft. Zachary Taylor or nearby South Beach.
